Six Educational Modules

Note: These pages are currently under construction. Apologies for the mess, and please stay tuned!

The modules below represent six sets of cross-curricular lesson plans, powerpoint slides, and other useful tools that relate to the Atomic sugoroku and local/global lessons about the dawn of the Nuclear Age. Through the lenses of social studies, science, art, and Japanese language, they incorporate the ludic tool of sugoroku, which fuses graphic play with lessons on a wide range of topics!

These modules were created in collaboration with the East Asian Studies Center at The Ohio State University (OSU) in partnership with the University of Pittsburgh national coordinating site for the National Consortium for Teaching About Asia (NCTA) Asian Studies Center University Center for International Studies, which is a Freeman Foundation funded program. Targeting middle to high school students, the lessons were developed by K-12 educators who have participated in OSU's annual summer seminar on East Asian Studies. For further information on NCTA programs at OSU and around the country, please see easc.osu.edu/ncta/ and nctasia.org/ respectively.
